PROUDLY SERVING MEMBERS THROUGHOUT CHELAN, DOUGLAS & OKANOGAN COUNTIES
Relief for businesses affected by wildfires
OLYMPIA – July 18, 2014 – With state business tax filing deadlines around the corner, the Washington State Department of Revenue (Revenue) wants businesses impacted by the Eastern Washington wildfires to know relief is available.
Businesses affected by the state of emergency can ask Revenue for a tax filing extension. Businesses that miss their tax filing deadline can request a late payment penalty waiver.
July 25 is the due date for monthly-reporting businesses, and quarterly filers must file and pay by July 31.
Revenue’s customer service staff can be reached at 1-800-647-7706 during regular work week hours. Businesses can also request relief through their online My Account feature in Revenue’s E-file service.
“The wildfires pose a real threat to our communities, and we will work with businesses that need our help during this time,” Revenue Director Carol K. Nelson said.
Businesses in affected areas can also request extensions for renewing business licenses and reseller permits as well as rescheduling audits.
